In recent years The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Libraries has partnered with various library entities in the U. S. Virgin Islands to pursue several National Leadership Grant projects. Funding for the projects was provided by The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The Virgin Islands Library Association and the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) have been supporting partners in the initiatives that included awards for training and digitization. The awards have been a vital source for continuing professional development and support for improved sharing and preservation of the selected information resources identified for the project.
